Air is going to take the path of least resistance the more air you can MAKE go through the intercooler the cooler the air charge will be
Intercooler size also plays a big role in this but most important is the amount of air throuh the cooler vs going around the cooler

After about a year a thin layer of clear plastic will flake off, and when it does all off it basically brushes off. Still shiny black underneath.
Nice job zeroing in on the issue and making a shield for the alternator.

i'd like to cut the bottom of the bumper out a little to open up the bottom 3 1/2 fins on the intercooler. Though I don't want it to look horrible. What did you use to finish off the edges. Your turned out great.
