elsolo I had to replace the pump at roughly 57k miles as well, but the previous owner had some fluid other than ATF in the system and a leaky rack when I bought it, so that may have contributed to pump failure (groaning).

gimmemoreboost My 07 2.0 has 57k on it and the only problem I've had with the motor is the pos power steering pump going out. I get parts for cost at the shop so I got an oem ford replacement. Been good for the last 10k.

What would help there is a bsd= balance shaft delete plug & w/ that you'll find the motor holds 6qtrs of oil.

Pull the air intake off the throttle body & hold the tb open & spray some tb cleaner down the throat of the tb & work the tb open & close. You'll see its from the egr. Mine is clean after having a tune to turn the rear 02 senser & egr off.

Bad hub barring or in the axle. Still think ill change motor mounts too since there's a lot more vibration than when I bought it. I read too that a bad passenger mount can cause strain on the axle anyway.
P.S if you do the hub bearing spend the 60 bucks and have Napa...etc. press it because they have a powerful press its a pain with a small home one.

When I first noticed the vibration it was at speeds around 70 ish, it really didn't make it at city speeds. But a little later it was 30 and up. Its pretty scary sounding and feeling lol

I found a replacement for $55 free shipping, if that don't fix the noise I'm not out much.
I don't hear the clicking noise while cornering like my last car did. This almost sounds like the teeth are slipping. Maybe there's just a bad bearing in the CV joint.
Other than that, 65 miles a day to n from work, oil change and fuel system cleaner every 3K and she runs great.
I have been there replace the hub bearing, the axle, and the shaft with the carrier bearing coming out of the trans. I tried just the hub bearing at first and it still made some noise, so do it all.

If it was burning enough oil to go through 5 quarts in 3000 miles, you'd have some pretty huge plumes of smoke.

I'd check to make sure it's not spraying out of the PCV or leaking

I have 106k on my 07 D20 and i have not yet had to replace anything on my engine. I keep hearing people replacing pulleys and water pumps before they hit 100k but yet I am over that and still running strong. And I live in Az so that is surprising that I haven't needed to.
