I did that service when I had my '07 Focus religiously. And yes, they were looking to drum up some business because I asked him specifically if he was talking about the DCT, and he said yes.

sailor Brindfan - wrong info. for the MkIII DCT, correct for all the prev. Focus automatics and seldom followed.

Someone isn't up to date or didn't pay attention to which model (to be kind, might just want the extra business).

Sure, if you live in a house, with a garage, but if you live in an apartment complex that prohibits vehicle maintenance on the property, not so much.

Jburks the book does say 150k however I personally wont be waiting that long. i'll probably do mine around 60k. you got to remember that the dct is similar to a manual transmission. Doing a drain in fill is very easy thing to do yourself so you can save some money.

Brindfan Hmmmm.....the dealership said I needed to drain an fill the DCT every 30,000 miles. I was skeptical because I didn't remember reading that. I checked and the maintenance schedule reads you don't do that until the vehicle reaches 150,000 miles.

I hate when service advisors lie to me. Looks like yet another Ford dealership that has now lost my business. That brings the count up to four. I'm running out of dealerships that are close to me, very frustrating.
