I am going to agree with the FINANCIALLY = NO, not worth it
but for the HOBBY/ENTERTAINMENT = YES
So long as I am not spending wads of cash in one MOD drop I am okay with it and the tuning aspect, as well as learning new skills, is an accomplishment that I am proud of.

Personally for me I don't think it's worth it anymore, just kind of tired of losing money on the things then trading off, no more, plus this new car, just doesn't feel like it needs it now.
Well, now that I think about it I might upgrade the speakers later, beings i just got the basic sound system, these speakers won't cut it for very long. lol

1) To increase driving enjoyment (power, handling, etc.)
2) To attract attention
In the case of #1, it is understandable.
In the case of #2, some people (myself included) prefer to remain stealth.
Some stranger thinks that my car is "cool"? That does nothing for me.
Especially when my car is parked, I clearly don't want it to attract attention (I prefer not to have my car vandalized, keyed, etc.).

|felixthecat||Life is all about compremises. Say you have a '06 focus & you upgrade the front brakes w/ the svt kit. You stop quicker & don't rear end the guy in front of you. Or you could rear end the guy ahead of you on your oem brakes & have more issues. So is that mod worth it? You could just run the cheaper tires vs 40.00 a piece more tires. Is a tire mod worth it? So you replace your oem make of tires to a better brand,= your modifing the factory designed tires. You could say the same w/ aftermarket brake pads/rotors or anything else. So ya, your modifing your car w/ aftermarket parts, whether you know it or not. Is it worth it? You could ask, How much is your time worth?|

this is exactly how I feel, so many people where I live (Carroll County) have a focus so I like to make mine stand out. I love working on my car and I do everything myself, screw overpaying a mechanic to do it all for you.

|Floodyou76||I think the answer is in the actions....if you mod, its worth it, if not, its not.|

Not worth it unless you plan on keeping the car until it dies. otherwise you will not only never make back the money you spent on the mods but you will actually decrease the value of the car when you go to sell/trade it (Unless you can find another fanatic). Bolt on applications might be ok, since they can be removed.
I know one thing, I would never buy a modded car.
