I would start a new thread with that as the topic. Many more would probably like to input on that one.

I was thinking about using the factory transmission cooler as a oil cooler but NOT in line with the turbo oil feed line per Tom's recommendation. I did a manual swap and have the old tranny cooler still mounted in the car but was trying to figure what trick thing I could do with the tranny cooler. Oil cooler is all I could come up with.

And no thread jack involved. It's in reference to his kits and why he suggest not to run a cooler on his turbo kits or turbo kits in general.

BTW still going with Tom's Turbo Kit when I make the move.

sailor Done that way it should be a thermostat controlled type, and it'd prob. do nothing most of the time, if not all of the time.

Note that the SVT stock unit is an oil to coolant type to avoid that necessity, and they include it because of using oil for cooling with the piston squirters.

prerunnerwannabe Ahh that makes sense. I was thinking of running one through like a sandwich plate between the oil filter. Would that be okay?

BTW, sorry for the thread jack. . .

Wait, how come? I was thinking of doing one in the future and I would like to know why it would not be a good idea.

1turbofocus WAY more then you doing it your self
