Darren4868 I have run into the same problem on my front door panels, I plan on doing something similar and have a heat gun yet I was wondering how long should it take to remove the foam inserts that are underneath the original fabric from the front door panels? Right now this is what I'm looking at:

pablotnewman Old thread is old, but I didn't see anyone mention it.

In the various interior projects I've completed in many different cars over the years, I think contact cement would be the best way to re-adhere the inserts to the door panels.

Good write up though, I've been considering redoing my inserts in the SVT since the cloth has come loose from a couple of the doors.

Janger22 AWESOME post dude. I was looking for info on this for a really long time. I'm thinking of doing Lime color inserts to match some racing seats and a new paint job i'm getting.

Blue5ive Not sure on what models they did this but my 03 zx5 has molded ABS plastic inserts on the door panels and not the horrible chipboard. The abs panels come off easy so you can reupholster them.

Davey Boy Then this should be no problem! And don't worry too much about messing it up, it's pretty easy.
