Sniperx One year the Finance people had me on my witholding as single with 14 dependents. When I caught it which was about two months before the end of the year, I had them fix it but I owed a lot of tax that year instead of getting a return!!! At least I was a lowly Corporal at the time so wasn't making a lot anyway which saved my butt. I think I owed about 500 dollars instead of getting 800 or so back.....ouch! That hurt in those days!

Yeah, the Army has no sense of humor that they are aware of.....

birdman_a15 At the current CD rates, $135,000 at 3% average. He made around $4000 total or roughly around $340 a month.

Sniperx I wish they had over paid me while I was in for ten years......I did get a bunch of specialty pay and loved it but they never over paid me.

lscrx When I was an E1 (making $377/paycheck) I got overpaid $400+, I was afraid to spend it but they never caught it. What would the army do if they paid me $150,000 and I paid off my mortgage and car loan with it?

That is EXCELLENT! Lol. Do you know roughly how much he banked off interest?
