seventystangfan I've been thinking about getting remote start, but I'm thinking that I will get some performance things done first. I also like the idea in http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=200742 that thread of having it react to the key being close. Also I would want to get power locks (and possibly windows) prior to a security system.

SvviftSVT I have mine done. I got it done at my buddy's audio shop. It works wonderfully. I just make sure to not leave my car in gear when I park. I know they removed the clutch sensor, but I was going to do that anyways. I don't use cruise control.

Wait, are you saying the Focus has a neutral sensor? (I'm looking to do the same mod on mine.)

Mike_Mac i would ask around and see who has the best rep vs cheapest. $300 on an install that works and is done proper vs 200 and you end up like that civic.im not sure what it will cost in your area. but i would expect 300-400ish for the starter, bypass and having it installed.

Viney266 gave you how the user activates the remote start. if a door is opened, truck, hood, ebrake looses continuity, or applied brakes will cause no start if it happens when it applies power to ACC. an other sensor can also be wired in to de activate the remote start.
