TheHumbleGeek I had a '12 se with the auto, and the only time it ever lurched, was when I would let off the gas just before it shifted... Wrecked it just shy of 35000km and it never had an issue...

SLJ7777 I had a 2014 SE with no automatic transmission/lurching issues and traded it in at 15,000 miles for a 2015 SE with the sport package and options I wanted. At 7,000 it's given me no trouble either. I tend to drive it aggressively and I think that's what the dual clutch likes. It's not a little old ladies car. My wife had a 2003 with 140,000 miles and no auto tranny trouble either.

HawksFan12 I currently drive a 1998 Mustang V6, I have had it for 16 years and have 247,000 miles on it. I'm considering buying either a new Focus or a lightly used Fusion in the next few months. I'm on here because I have heard a lot of not-so-great things about the Focus dual clutch automated manual powershift transmission.

I signed up here to get current Focus owner's opinions. Do a lot of you still have trouble with the newer Focus's powershift transmissions, even after all the updates from the Ford dealers? If you were in my place, would it put you off buying a new Focus? Would you go for a used Fusion instead? I have driven both extensively myself, and the only thing holding me back from the Focus is that the rentals I have driven all have the lurching issues at low speeds, even the 2015 I rented.

Thanks for your feedback.

Needed a window regulator, inner rods, belt, tune up, stab links, front struts, front pads/rotors and wheel bearing to get her in shape. Oh and the zip-tied bumper of course! Did it all myself so it was only $900 in parts. I also retrofitted some Mini H1 projectors into the stock housing. Headlight plastic restoration coming soon.
Must be nice to be able to do all the work and save yourself some money
