Tires Felt good, My times were still pretty consistant with what I used to drive with the old tires. Significantly less squealing around corners but then again that could be because they grip better and I was too used to driving at the speeds I normally do and didn't push them as hard as they could.
I did push my best time of the year and hit 1:27.97
Although back in 2006 I hit a few 1:27.xx's when I drove the car one day when it was still my dad's (my car had an issue day before event). Although again 4 years ago so there is 4 more years of engine/suspension wear (lots of miles put on the last 2.5 years since I've had the car)
All in All, I really like the tire. Another guy who lives near me who also had a 5dr svt was there and he was a good second or two faster, however he had dedicated track wheels/tires that were actuall hoosier racing slicks and obviously those are better.
We talked a lot and discussed lines around the course, and what gear we drive in and when. We both learned a few things from each other so next spring at the next event we will see what happens
Although if all goes as planned I will also have a set of dedicated wheels/tires for track days only.
Will eventually like to get opinions on what to do for those but i'll worry about that later
So overall. I like the tire and I feel it is an improvement over what I had before.

Already purchased and on the car. Don't seem as noisey as I was expecting them to be. Seem to be pretty grippy, but haven't had a chance to power around a highway on ramp just yet. Only have about 80miles or so on them right now.
Have a track day 10/10/10. will post a review after i beat on em for a day

|mlbbaseball||i would go w/ the star specs, i've never owned a set, but have driven w/ them on my buddies lotus, they are vry good on the track but don't last long on the street|

Good deal on all the dedicated sets of wheels/tires.
That's exactly where I'm at...3 sets.
My wife was a bit "concerned" shall we say at first, but now that I've had the 3 sets for 3 years, she can see the benefits.
In that, I've only had to buy one set of tires a year now, and the winters and daily drivers have still got another year left on em.
I guess the next question is are you running stock class (stay with 17") or are you eventually going to be dropping down to 16" or even 15" for track tires?
I suppose it doesn't matter at this point...
Get yourself the Dunlops for your 17" wheels right now and go for it, and decide on race wheel size once that time comes.

I have a 2nd set of 16" wheels running blizzaks for the winter already.
Edit: Additional info that may help:
Due to me actually having a new job now, the ultimate goal by spring / mid summer latest is to purchase a 3rd set of lighter weight wheels that will run sticky dedicated track tires. What I want to buy now needs to last me the rest of this season (up until snow hits) and then possible the first part of next season.. Then when I have my race wheels/tires the next set I buy to replace whatever I purchase now will just be a longer lasting street tire that has a bit of grip to it.

Just thought of something that's rather important in your part of the country...

It's a tough choice with what you have listed.
You're comparing apples to oranges.
Dunlop and Kuhmo are basically purpose built AutoCross/Track tires, that can be driven on the street, albeit they won't last long.
You might get 10-12K out of a set that sees the track with any frequency.
(BTW, the MX has been replaced by the XS and the XS is actually less expensive:
Your existing Conti and the BFG-KDW 2 are just the opposite.
Good street tires, that perform marginally well on the track.
They'll probably last 20k, but will only be about 70% as good on the track as the above choices.
I suppose if it were me, I'd lean towards the Dunlops.
They work well on the track, and from the few vehicles I've seen running them this year (as dual duty tires) they seem to look like they'll last long enough.
Just a quick opinion though.
I learned a long time ago that you're better off biting the bullet and getting dedicated track and street wheels/tires.
Then, there's no compromise on either set.
You'll also come out better financially, cause you're not buying street tires every year.
And, there's always that chance that something could happen on the track (off course, debris, whatever)
and all of a sudden you can't get home cause you've damaged your one and only set of tires.
