|H0nda_Crazy||hmmm interesting input. That all sounds about right though. My gf has the focus. its a 16valve zetec I believe. We played around with straight line speed in our cars. My car when it was new made like 145 or 135 at the crank (mind you, it now has 208K mi.). Mines an AT =( Hers makes about 130 at the crank, AT as well. We pulled almost the same. She might have been a little quicker than me. But hey, I figure I didn't do too bad considering Lucys (my car) age.|

One little note though, the AT focus make considerably less at the wheels, those #'s are for the MT versions. Also, even mild turbo cars clear 200 whp w/ ease.
I wouldn't say I'm beating a lot of cars though. I got my butt handed to me by a Dodge Ram Diesel that night too. Looked bone stock but he cut an 8.20 . A lot of winning in the 1/8 (or 1/4) is driver skill and how good you are at getting off of the line. A good driver with a slower car will beat a bad driver w/ a faster one (within reason). Maybe there are just more "good drivers" in Foci.

|focusmaniaczx3||a bone stock very well kept or low mileage manual will make between 100 and 105 at the wheels most of the time. full bolt ons will be around 135ish. i probably would make close to if not a little over 200 on giggle gas. have yet to make a pull on the dyno with it|

|SloassZX3||I think most of the stock foci are running at around 130HP from the factory. But theres a whole bunch of different opinions on everything around here. Go figure.|

|H0nda_Crazy||Out of curiousity, what are these foci making at the wheels? I can go find it on wikipedia or something but I'm curious about your guys' numbers since you seem to be beating a good number of cars.|

|01slo-cus||Yeah, last time I was out there I beat the crap out of a friend of mine in his SRT-4. Now, I know what he's done to it and I've ridden in it before. He's making an easy 300hp out of that thing but he got nervous and blew the launch and then missed a shift (never raced before). It's not always the fastest car that wins. I know I should have taken it easy on him since he was a friend but there's no honor in winning a race that someone threw. Being that he's a friend I resisted rubbing it in afterward. I do still have that timeslip hanging up on my desk at work though.|

the thing is that stuff like that happens all the time. at the local 1/8th i beat a WRX wagon. guy fell asleep at the tree, otherwise it would have eaten me alive. my mph was 71mph and his was 79. whooped the crap out of a turbocoupe t-bird who supposedly had an aftermarket turbo boosting 15psi. left him on the line and continued to pull away the whole way down the track. he said something was wrong with the car so i volunteered to take a look and found a factory turbo and a sparkplug wire that was nowhere to be found.
had another kid in a GST eclipse with a claimed 24psi that got pulled the whole way down the track. after running his mouth and getting beat by a N/A focus he immediately left. however my favorite by FAR has to be a buddy of mine who threw together a fox body mustang from junkyard parts over the course of 2 weeks and his biggest investment was a 2 stage nitrous setup and hoosier slicks. we lined up and took off and his car launched itself off the rear end and broke the driverside rear hub off and he got passed by his own tire.
and thats just from my last trip to the drag strip. wherever the focus goes, shenanigans is sure to follow.

|Master-Baits||You didn't see him the rest of the evening because he was on his way to the nearest performance shop so he could walk in and say " I need NOS" in his best Paul Walker voice.|

|01slo-cus||Year of the car??? The Honda ??, don't know. It was a civic hatch. Not terribly old nor brand new. Probably about the same same year as my car. It was a very clean looking car and actually looked like it could be a serious runner. No tell-tale poser signs like a huge wing or tasteless wheels or nothing. The owner was clearly clueless though and thought he had something he didn't. Afterward he was making every excuse in the book despite the fact that the run against me was one of his quickest runs of the night. Didn't hear from or see him the rest of the evening after that though.|
