jmiller_1974 ^^That is VERY true, and not the first horror story I have heard about BBORR. The folks running this are small town folks, who do tend to change things at the last minute. It is always good to call ahead to check on any changes ahead of time. Still, even with that I would hope to get at least a small handful of folks who might be interested.

YellerZX3 One thing to remember about the BBORR is that the rules posted on their site are not all the rules they have.

If they see something they think is going to be an issue they will ask for it to be corrected.

I had a friend that prepaired a Camaro for the race, followed all the rules they have posted, trailered the car down there behind a van that used as much oil as gas, only to be turned away because he didn't have side windows in the car. They were worried that the back glass could be blown out at speed. When he asked about why they did not have that posted they just blew him off.

He ended up getting invites to attend the Nevada version of the race after other organizers found out about it.

jmiller_1974 Yeah, that sounds about right, on the speed class and the harness thing. The Saleen S7 I posted about earlier was almost turned away because He didn't have a harness in His car, and with lots of cars waiting in the wings to fill a spot, they have no problem dumping someone for safety non compliance.

VenomRogue looks like most Foci would be put in the 112-124 top speed class...

if I am reading correctly, you need a properly installed 5-6 point harness to jump into the 140mph class....

wonder if my codesvt harnes bar and 3in harness count for that....hrm.....

wait, nevermind, i would HATE to see what 140 flat out for 50 miles would do, with a non-intercooled blower strapped to my motor....

jmiller_1974 Honestly, it is mostly mid-to-high end cars, but there was an SVT Contour(bone stock), a couple of older Escort GTs, and such. Everyone is welcome, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna be the only one in a Focus....again.

ChuckDee o ok i c now. well now my interest is back up, but what other kind of cars are gonna run in this?
02-12-2010 08:19 PM
jmiller_1974 Not with qualifying, Chuck. First, You gotta qualify, then You are placed in classes with cars in the same general speed bracket, so Your times are never put up against a 'Vettes' time...unless You happen to qualify in the same class as a 'Vette, of course.

I really think I posted this too late for an organized Focus event, so that gives Us 'til NEXT April to be ready for this.

C'mon Chuck, don't back out yet, We've got plenty of time
02-12-2010 12:35 PM
ChuckDee so we would look like a prius compared to those things?

jmiller_1974 Cool, thanks Ray. I just remember that there are a limited number of cars that can race, so registration fills up FAST.

This seems to be mostly a 'Vette event, but I've seen everything from M-series to custom kit cars, to a Super Bird and a Saleen S7.

tukaniSVT Thanks for the Schedule, J.

I'll sticky this for others to see and gather some interest.
