runfocusrun Well that's one way to get away with speeding I guess.....
Hope you realize that the next one mignt be less forgiving ?
(been there, done that and after 9 months of hospital and 2 yrs of rehabilitation believe me, it's NO fun)
It's like the sentence one of us has on here:
Speed doesn't kill, it's the sudden lack of movement that does (or something)

SPIman2.0 well... lucky ass me....... as you guys all know....

A few months ago I COMPLETELY DESTROYED my SPI. I was doing 90 in a 25 (... yea.... ) while it was raining and I flipped her 4 times (3 rolls were airborn..... ouch....), took out a 30 ft. section of a retaining wall, 2 industrial sized air conditioning units, and about 6 half grown trees.

Needless to say, I was charged with Excessive Speeding, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangerment.

I was looking at (since I am a minor) 5 years suspended license, 20k fine, and up to 300 community service hours......

And then I remembered my brothers best friend was one of the best layers in NC... and he wouldn't charge me anything to represent me.....

So..... I called him up.... he set a free space in his calender... we went to court 3 weeks ago.... and BAM..... all charges dropped......

Apparently he knew the DA "well", and worked it out for me...... Needless to say, I ended up being one of the luckiest bastards on earth that day......

Oh yea... and here's the car.....

ZUKIMON Glad you got out of it. Just yesterday I was showing my ass and passed a State Trooper running 75.........bad thing is, I was in a 45 zone on a rural country road in Wilkesboro! Needless to say, I didn't hang around waiting on him to turn on me and I took off like a bat outta hell. I don't know how fast I was going but I got home really quick considering where I was driving from........ Proud of it, no. Did I want to get caught, no. Is this the first time I have run from the popo......NO. LOL My lucks running out and I am going to get caught one day but the last 4 times running from them have been fun.

I'm going to go and spank myself now for being a 32 year old kid........... lol

SVTflyer03 Some ppl are lucky i guess, I just got nipped. But its a good thing. otherwise I would be doing it all the time and may end up getting myself or someone else killed.

And as far as our responsibilties. I have to take. I cant stand when someone tries to justify it or have their daddy buy them out of jail. Its not right. If you going to be stupid, get ready to pay for it.

runfocusrun Guys I've just read this thread. What I don't get is the racing part or the speeding. Don't get me wrong here, if there's one guy out here who loves speed it's me. I drove on the Nürnberg ring, barely touched the ground on the U-bahn when I was based in Germany and ALWAYS go faster on the highway then permitted (no matter which country I'm in) I've been driving around for 32 odd yrs and NEVER EVER got a speeding ticket, except for the occasionnal parking ticket (stupid meters). I love fast cars (my ZX5 needs boost LOL), owned a few high ranked ones but I would never streetrace, no matter how much the temptation.
What I like about this thread is your responsibilaty of dealing with it, I've seen a few threads ranting about tickets and stuff on here but I admit that, although laws were broken, you guy's are at least taking reponsability and for that I salute you.
Now think twice in the future and use a track LOL.
Short story of playing innocent:
Lately was driving back from N-Y. Speeding as usual on the highway, no traffic around so I thought let's push it a bit, while driving by an on ramp (how you call that?) I saw a cruiser parked on the side ramp and thought this isn't good. Sure came after me. I stopped, he looked at my plates and licenses (I accidently (???) pulled my belgian one too) and says aren't you aware of the limits ? I took out my european accent and told him I was convinced speedlimit was the same as where I come from. He gave me a fair lecture about country regulations, wished me well and that was it. Call me lucky bastid but I never got a speeding ticket.

SVTflyer03 HECK Yeah!!! I'll share the story.....

So last wednesday i'm on my way home about 11 pm or so. And im going the route to my house, the route over the dam. And i pass a neighbor hood and a guy pulls out in a tib.

I think nothing of it so I keep driving. Well I come to a red light and slow down, it turns green b4 I stop. So as usual I gun it, up to the speed limit yes. and still not thinking about tht tib, just drive. Well All of the sudden i see lights coming up fast. He flies by me at a good speed.

I downshift and say to myself "time to show him who pwns tibs" BUHAHAHA. *ahem*

I catch up to him and go RIGHT past with no problems. He was trying to catch up, but was just too slooooow for me. HAHA.

Well I had a feeling that there was a cop around the cornoer, and sure enough there was. I saw blue lights, went about 100 - 200 feet past him and pulled into a "safe" location off the road. Well the guy in the tib tries to slow down and get away, the cop jerks his cruiser across 2 lanes and blocks the guy from "escaping" he got us both.

And now i have a big ticket.

Sorry to thread jack Chase, nothing personal. lol

FEROUSPHIL did u win the race ?
09-03-2009 09:15 PM
SVTflyer03 I wouldn't do that. I actually appreciate cops. I mean without them I'd be dead. Well could be. I would show them how clean I keep my car and then they'd be like, "well okay, it wont hurt. And you're using your own stuff. Thanks buddie" haha
