Ok, so I was wrong about the width of the rims. But the recommended width for a 225-50R15 is a 6-8" wide rim, that is from the manufacturers. So a 6" rim will be fine. Itís not a 5" inch wide rim or a 9" wide rim; then you would be stretching or pinching the tire.

|Auto-X-ZTS||Lorin Mueller ran 205/50-15 and 225/50-15 on 15" wagon wheels when he had his HS car; was no faster on the 225s...so, yes a 205/50-15 is a good size for that wheel.|

Since you've got the extra set of 15X6s lying around, that's a no brainer.
That's also a pretty light wheel.
By the time you buy some 7-7.5" wheels (to fit 225s), that are also as light as your existing wheels, you'll be spending quite a bit of money.
Just get 4-205/50s and hit the track!

Ok, so it sounds like I need 205s, or wider wheels, haha.
Thanks for the help guys!

|xShiFTx||I run 205/50-15's on the split spokes. The guy putting these tires on (Kumho XS') said it was a giant pain and he would not go any bigger for fear of pinching on stock rims.|

You can use a 225-50R15, it will fit on a 6.5" wide rim
The 15" fOCUS wheels are 6" though, not 6.5".
That's really pinching a 225 on a 6" rim, and more often than not will result in reduced performance.
The contact patch may end up convex instead of flat due to the sidewalls being pulled in so much.
I'd take focusedaddiction's suggestion and find yourself some 205/50s.
Or, maybe a 215/XX, though I'm not sure if there's many to choose from in a 15" size.

|jayel579||You can use a 225-50R15, it will fit on a 6.5" wide rim. You aren't asking too much of the tire to do that, recomended rim width for that size tire is a 6-8" wide rim. You might be able to get away with a wider tire for that rim size it will just come down to clearence and availability. A 225-50R15 has some good choices for AutoX tires.|

|focusedaddiction||205/50/15's will be your best bet for stock wheels, i've used that size alot & it works out well. 225's are too big for stockers, you would need a 7 or 7 1/2" rim for that, like rota slipstreams|
