puppetman i would think theres an led behind your gauges to light that up. i wont be taking mine apart to look, but it wouldnt hurt to check it out. if there is, id imagine you could just unplug it or cut the power to it

ISLAND FOCUS Yes my air bags went off as well but I am not replacing them. I am fiberglassing over the hole with a mod of some kind and painting my dash. Is there anyway to get the airbags lights to go out? Thanks for all the help guys!

mikebontoft that "safety button" you're referring to is the fuel cutoff switch, likely to have kicked in during the collision.

lol I couldn't figure out what those plugs were for either.... then I forgot to plug them in again. most annoying ride I ever had in the focus lol. that seat belt chime goes off about every minute, very persistent. and the airbag and seat belt indicators remain lit.

it's likely you may have to replace the seatbelt tensioners if they deployed their charge (i dunno what happned/was deployed)

if you start it up though, I'm about 70% positive you'll see the airbag light remain on.

ISLAND FOCUS So what if I already had a front end collision? Would that small charge have went off? If so, what if it happens again? The charge wont be there and my belts will not work anyway?
Also, I am just about ready to start my car, as soon as my wires and coil arrive from Massive, but I was told that theres a safty button somewhere that I need to push before it will start after an accident? Anyone know about this as well?

melbzetec It also activates the seatbelt tensioners. In an accident, I think you'll find there is a small explosive charge that goes off to pull you in tight with the seatbelt.

In other words, plug it back in!

ISLAND FOCUS Thanks for all the help guys. I just couldnt figure out why such a large plug was plugged into the bottom of each from seat. It seems like alot of wires and a big plug for a simple seatbelt chime. I should figure out how to post some pics?? that would make things so much easier!!!!

Mr.Bergner They have several slots for terminals so it's universal for whatever option your car has. If it's unplugged, it'll keep your light on. I don't see how it has anything to do with the airbags unless you have airbags in your seats like on the SVT Recaro's.

kris4christ2: That's normal with that mod.

leh0825 agreed they would be for heated seats or for the seatbelts. or for power seats if they came.. easier to install them all on there cars instead of doing say 100 without then 100 with.. having to change the setups of each... plus makes for an easy upgrade to go to heated seats or power seats.. or both

JHZX3 I disconnected them not to long ago and in my 2001 ZX3 they are definitely routed to the airbags in some way. Just put em back, you'll be fine.

kris4christ2 Hm.. For my Seat Belt Chime, all I did was follow the combination in the Manual to stop the Noise (buckling and unbuckling seat belt a certain number of times). And, the warning lamp still pops up.
