Svt4life Yeah dropping the clutch will only get u nothing but engine BOG - also i don't think there is any need to powershift - I thought u only did that with older tranny's iono im not a tranny guru but im sure there is no need to powershift

Flowcus My first time I ran a 16 flat at 91mph and a 2.2 60 all stock. I had no T/C switch just turned it off in car... launched at 4k rpm dropped clutch spun wheels bogged then caught. I shifted at around 7100-7200 no powershifting just shifted really fast and dropped clutch each time. With some better tires and a few mods I could pull low 15's high 14's now I know how to drive my car better.

Personal best run of 15.5 at 90mph... T/C switch and still dropping clutch at 4krpm. The race season is over here in minnesota in my area, but next spring ill have some mods done new rims and stickier tires so im shooting for high 14's. Im also going to try dropping clutch and feathering off the line.

Reaction time has nothing to do with it. Its how you launch, shift points, swiftness of shifts, traction etc. NOT REACTION TIME.

dudley123 Ok, not to jack the thread but i ran a 16.5 BEST so far. I ran quite a bit too. All I have is a STS and TC Switch. Altitude was about 4000 feet. DO you think that it was a good run? 16.59 at 87 mph. shifting at about 7-7.1k Dropping the clutch at 4500. THe higher i launched the better times i was getting. My wheels would spin and then bog. But if i launched i enough they would spin catch and go without rpms dipping. What do you think? Can i get better?

He probably means dumping the clutch if you have the TC switch installed...

I'm gonna give that a shot, we'll see how it goes...but I'm not gonna powershift...thanks, and I'll be keeping my shifts above 7000rpm....peak horsepower is at 7k if I'm not mistaken.

Josh84 Hope you dont litereally mean "powershifting at 6600rpms"...yeah you might get super low 15's all night long, but dont expect too many drag races with that kind of abuse.
