focusmaniaczx3 nitrous is the least expensive power adder you can buy and is also by far the biggest bang for your buck. i bought my nitrous kit for 300 bucks and installed it myself. 250 bucks for the tune from tom and another 250 for a wideband A/F ratio gauge and o2 sensor which are a requirement for running nitrous unless you just WANT to blow your car to kingdom come. total cost for running giggle gas for me: $800.

WitchCitySVT I've seen a few people running later model GTP's at the track and they are very quick, but there are a lot of factors in this race. His car is a bone stock 98? If thats the case, you have to take in consideration that the car is 11 years old and it's not going to be making the same power it did when it rolled off the assembly line. You would also have to factor in how well it's been maintained and if it's lived an abusive 11 years or not.

Then you have to question the drivers ability. Contrary to popular belief, there's more to running an automatic down the track, than just punching the gas and letting her rip.

I would say race him as is. So what if you lose. If you can't afford to lose the cash ,then you shouldn't be putting it on the line.

OK, my Procharger set up is costing a little more than I wanted with the XCAL, tune, and other odds and ends, ill give you that.

I just say think about it, price it out with boost and nitrous with ALL safeguards, tuning, parts you will need, etc.

How do you plan on tuning for your nitrous?

I am not a big fan of nitrous. Boost is much more fun, always on tap, AND safer.

My friend had a 1994 Grand Prix GTP; no supercharger. BUT I dont think the supercharger was intoduced to the engine until 1998.
