|Jgrove998||The interior parts of the headlights look perfect. The UV coating on the lens is a royal pain to get off...I only have one done so far. I plan to get the clear film covers from lamin-x to seal up the hard work I am doing. No pictures right now....just more sanding!|

Bringing this thread back from the dead.
Going to bust open these lights to refinish the clear lens covers; horrible pealing. As a reminder I used the OEM Ford covers from my 2005 lights; not really happy that they are pealing so bad.
I'll try to grab some photos of how everything held up to ~4 years of use.

Heh in some places you get your car impounded for retrofitted HID. Yes it will be a huge dent in your pocket, im sure of that.
Heres pics. BTW the output is HIGHLY exaggerated. They dont look even close to as bad as the pictures but still pretty bad. The glare above the cutoff shield is hardly noticeable. Ive stood right in the little glare spot and was completely fine, not blinded at all. Actually, didnt even notice i was standing in it lol. These were taken from my camera phone too so extra crap to the pile. Im getting a DSLR for christmas so ill snap some pictures that show what it really looks like, but you get the idea here.
i think in this one i was pretty close to the wall. Maybe i should get one from further back.

|joserlon||FocalRocket, its always a good idea to post pics...i will post pics too as soon as it stops raining outside.. im dying to do the retrofit, but itll take me a while to buy the projectors i need, cuz i recently got pulled over with a ticket:/ i dnt know yet how much $$will have to pay but im pretty sure its going to make a big dent on my pocket.|

|FecalRocket||these headlights are decent with HID in the projectors that come with them. I say that because they keep the light out of peoples eyes and the output is much better than just the regular bulbs. Although, the output is CRAP still, lots of black spots and hot spots. Ill take pictures if anyone is interested.|

|joserlon||Posted via FF Mobile BowerR64, if you want brighter lights, get HIDs.. its the easyest way to get brighter lights..i wouldnt try to wire high beams with low beams cause the bulb may get too hot... i had HIDs when i had the stock lights (like yours) and they looked pretty good, but i upgraded to dual halo projector headlights and im gonna do the retrofit to get more light output.|

Mine arnt halo i have the crystal style which are just like the stock ones but painted black where most of the chrome is around the bulbs.
Ide like to have both mine on at the same time if its ok with out melting wires. My high and low are in the same bulb maybe the bulb cant handle this?
It is alot brighter with them both on. Im about to add fog lights maybe these 2 will be enough?

The glass bubble is a projector. For these headlights, they are designed for halogen bulbs. The OP retrofitted them with HID projectors which you see on most luxury cars.
Those are the low beams, the inside are the high beams. I have mine set to have low and high beams on at the same time but you have to open the steering wheel column and add a wire there to do it. This is safe to do in these headlights without a meltdown. Halos get spliced into the parking/running lights using a quick splice that can be found at radioshack or elsewhere. Turn signals still work the same. The turn signal harness has 3 wires. One for ground, one for turn signal, and the other for running/parking.
