izmas This sounds exactly like what happened to me. Glad you got it started.

izmas Well just to give you an update. I did use a bottle of fuel treatment (earlier) and filled up to a full tank. I cleaned out my garage and stored it inside overnight. It started with no problems in the morning. I'm still concerned about what happened earlier when it wouldn't start when it was really cold outside. I guess I will keep it in the garage for now.

izmas I'm running a performance tune that came with my predator. I haven't had these problems before for many years. I think there might be an issue with a fuel injector. I will keep your suggestion about gas pedal and 8 seconds in mind. Thanks.

paulg127 Sounds like a cold start calibration from Tom with a little leaner crank fuel would help. Don't forget that holding the accelerator pedal to the floor during cranking will turn off the fuel. It the car does not start after the normal 3rd attempt, hold the pedal to the floor while cranking for 8 seconds. If it does fire during this clean out, make sure you take your foot off the pedal IMMEDIATELY to get fuel injected to have a chance at starting again.

izmas I am experiencing the same problems. Once in awhile the car just won't start. Does any else have the same thing happening? It was really cold at night, when I woke up there was frost on the car in the morning. However, I'm in North California so it doesn't even snow here, so it's not that cold! I was able to put some fuel injector cleaner in it and waited until the temps warmed up closer to the afternoon. It barely got started after numerous times, and I pretty much killed the battery so I had someone help me jump it. I'm assuming frozen fuel line?

03svtfocus89 yeah i just got it started about an hour ago i gave it some gas and it sputtered to life, and it reaked like gas for a minute or so too

LongDucDong I had the same problem here in IL, but no new clutch put in. lol After suffering through 2 days of wonderful "global warming" and its -40 degree windchills, my car just wouldnt start at all. It would crank, almost light, then not. After repeated attempts, the battery was just winding down (brand new battery, too) so I called it quits for the night. THe next day my brother came out and we tried to jump it and when cranking it, his Toyota almost died, too. His belts were squealin away, etc. lolol Today temps were back to normal so the first thing I did was go outside and hoped it started. It took 3 attempts but finally lit. I either deduced it was a frozen fuel line from those brutal temps, or I flooded it. When she fired up, she reeked of fuel, so I assume I just flooded it.

Bottom line? Try it when the temps warm up, you might have a frozen fuel line or maybe flooded it while trying to start it repeatedly.

SVT not starting NEED help!

Thursday night i had a new clutch and flywheel put in,I drove it from the shop to my house (about 3 miles) parked it in my driveway and woke up the next morning to start it and it would not start, i thought oh its just because its -25 out. i tried jumping it but it almost stalled out my dads truck when i tried turning it over. it will crank and act like its about to start but just die. today it is +15 out and it is doing the same thing does anyone know what it might be? is it anything my mechanic did wrong when putting the tranny back in?
