I'll back up what's been said about ceramics pads. They generate about as much dust in a week as the standard pads generate in a day. They don't feel quite as linear as the stock pads, ceramic pads really like to be warm but the difference isn't dramatic.
I find that it takes about three weeks for my wheels to get grotty enough to bug me. I drive about 30 miles a day in mixed traffic.
Oh yeah, I got the Hawk pads from Tire Rack and they wear better than the stockers.

|SVT_BMXer||I use EBC green stuff pads and I still have to wash my wheels frequently. It's just the way it is, if you use a good wheel sealant it will help tons though.|

|pat247||Use a good polish and wax often, that will make them easier to clean. You can go the low dust, no dust brake pad route but you will be giving up stopping power.|

I agree with MLB, new brake pads is the way to go.
You've got a lot of options, but I'd go with EBC. Green stuff is a bit noisy, but Red stuff is great, and doesn't give off any brake dust really.

|RedZx3||Buy ceramic brake pads. I just bought the Hawk ceramics from tirerack.com...awesome! They feel the same as stock, no noise, and no dust.|
