|jocus||Just took a drive up to northern wi from chicago with a lot of traffic jammed.. I had the same issue about four years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was the thermostat that went bad, not ever turning the fans on. Driving;fine.. idling;hot, stop-and-go with mostly stop;extra hot. Gotta get in there and investigate.|

guys guys guys. thats a 40 dollar part. just go to ford and replace it. its called the fan assembly resistor pack. its a common trouble part that only lasts a few years.
i didnt need a pig tail. but mine went out after i turned my f0f0 into an amphibious assault vehicle. i still need to replace my horn though

I'm experiencing similar troubles. My low speed resistor doesn't look nearly as bad as yours though...
Here's the part #s for the resistor & plug. Hope it helps.

the car was overheating for some time. today i have decided to pull thermostat out and have discovered this. relay has burned connectors. should i shortcut it to have fans running full power, or is it not recommended?.. what are the next steps. I am working on the car this moment at job parking lot, in order to make back home. I have also discovered that upon turning ac on not always fans kick in high speed...(i think low is working). i was considering radiator temp fan on/off sensor, but looking at this discovery that might not be an issue. please advice. thank you BArtos
