Open the hood and find the spark plug wires.
That will answer your question.

He has a 2003 like I do which clearly states 1.3mm under our hood. Also my math is completely correct.
I just typo the 1.5 over 1.3 my bad let me go edit that for you lol
1.3 divided by 25.4 = 0.051, 1mm is .03936996

Taken directly from the emissions decal under the hood.
1.5mm would be .059", check your math.

|StephenElsbree1986||Um .06 is a little high for ours also. I drop mine down to .051 and it feels a lot better, it depends on the power you're making how you want to gap it. Anyway stock gap is 1.3mm which is .051 in you're gaping to high.....imho....|

After reading through this thread I decided I should go check my spark plugs because my neighbor had gapped them when we were trying to figure out why my engine was misfiring (ended up being a broken wire in the coil pack) and I'm pretty sure he didn't gap them correctly. Sure enough, I check them today and they were only at ~.050 which would be on the low end for my (mostly) stock SVT according to what others are doing. I gapped them up to .060 and it definitely felt better even with the stock replacement plugs and the stock wires. I'm thinking next time I change the plugs I'll be going with the copper cores to see what kind of a difference that makes, and then possibly switching to some aftermarket wires since I'm sure these ones are towards the end of their lives.
EDIT: I didn't mean to say the guy didn't gap them correctly, he just didn't bother to ask where I wanted them and just kinda threw them in the car.

No you dont , on the ones that have wires going to bigger wires or coils never showed any gains , the stock wires/ coil did just as good as anything else sold

I have an 07 Focus SE 2.0 Duratec. I use AR103 spark plugs gapped at 0.55". Rides nice, but I don't want to burn out my ignition or any wires, so I have a question:
NAPA says my car doesn't have plug wires - only coil over plug boots. If people are upgrading plug wires to at least 8mm to handle wider gaps on plugs, and I don't have plug wires, do I need to upgrade my coil over boots or can the stock ones handle AR103s at 0.55"?
Thanks for the advice!
