amc49 Hey, when that's all they make what'rre you gonna do??? If me you make up the whole thing out of conventional bulk hose so at least when it fails again you can replace it at 1/4 the normal cost. I no longer use the steel tube in the middle, rather custom bent/cut steel brake line and short adapter pieces of hose on the ends.

It's the newer version. It's mounted under the plastic intake manifold on the back of a Zetec. They wear out and collapse, or just split altogether. Do a search and you'll see plenty of pics. https://www.google.com/search?num=10....1.Gp0CtY_4Hhc
Hmmm, I see the heat shield which is suppose to protect the hose, but the part that goes bad is the elbow on the left, which is not protected by the heat shield... sooooo Is this really an improved version? (And yes, I know this post is very old...)

ChaosWarlord26 Have you read the entire thread? Because it sounds like you have checked everything but the possible vacuum leaks the thread is about.

It has a hard plastic core with rubber elbows one on each end. One of my rubber elbows was in real bad shape So I replace it with High temp Silicone tubing. and has been runing great ever since. Hope this helps out a lot of people.
Is there a crank case ventilation on a 2.0 Zetec DOHC? And if there is one, where is it?

GeeGee I recently purchased a 2008 Focus SES and it has a rough idle. If you all noticed most of the intake parts are plastic....ya! So I started looking at the connections and found one of them appeared to be secure but it was actually cracked and loose. Fortunately it had a male type plug so I wrapped tape around the outside and inserted it back into the manifold and wrapped wire around it to hold it in place....It idles Great!. I couldn't believe how easy that was...you all might want to check for cracked fittings!

funky idle

Okay so i bought my first Ford and it was my 2001 focus ZX3 5 speed.Love it !!!!!!Lots of fun to drive then last week i did the "stupid" and ran it almost out of gas since then it has had a rough idle but also noticed about a couple days before that there was like a hissing/sssshhhhh noise. So i did some research and put gas treatment in then that didn't work so i got some trottle cleaner and cleaned the throttle body. That massde it run a little smoother now back to a rough idle at stop lights, like it's gonna die and rpms go down to about 750.
Engine light came on so went to the autozone and some 19001 code came about oxygen sensor.

I love my focus and of course the gas mileage and the zoom zoom of it.
so this weekend my son and i will try the z hose thing. But if any other clues plz let me know.
