..:: sleestak ::.. I love coming back here and seeing my how-to's still in action! Glad this gained some steam and even some advancements.

Cheers to you all

svt c a n u c k I had a broken lens for quite a while. I finally got sick of looking at it and took the whole fog light assembly off, dug out all the broken glass, and machined a new lens out of 1/4" lexan and siliconed it in place.

Then I machined pieces to fit into the bumper.

I know this one's a bit dark, but from inside you can see how it fits.

Thanks to the OP for the great idea.

GingerLily We just purchased an'04 SVT from the original owner who did a fairly good job with maintenance but the car has a broken fog light. We are going to purchase a Dremel (we've been looking for an excuse!) and do this fix. My husband is thinking about fabricating a wire cover as well. Thanks for sharing this helpful and logical fix! We'll post later on how it goes.

Ralliman This is an awesome idea, and I already have the Lexan as well as the necessary Dremel bit. However, I'm having a lot of trouble finding the yellow tint paint. Michaels didn't have it, Neither Lowe's nor Home Depot carry anything like it, and Autozone carries Metalcast (similar paint effect) in every color except yellow. I hate to pay $7 shipping for a single can of the stuff, but so far, online's been the only place I can find it.

OrangeSVTguy Wow wish I done this years ago. Mine are pitted to shit. Not to mention some of the brackets are broken and the one just kinda "floats" down there lol.

..:: sleestak ::.. I had them in for over a year and they stayed clean enough on the inside. Maybe a little film but nothing really noticeable.

Someone asked earlier about colors. If you go to Michaels art/craft store, they sell cans of Krylon that is made for coloring glass and its around $10. Just put a number of coats on it, lightly, to get them colored. They have red and yellow usually.

Did this on my forester and it looks great. The light comes out very yellow as well, no need for colored bulbs....

SvviftSVT Can't tell. Mine are tinted heavily.

macdiesel Doesn't get dirty from behind the lexan? Between the fog light and lexan?

SvviftSVT i did this almost a year ago.. and holding up perfectly..
nightshaded the lexan (personal choice)
no pitting from debris.. and there is plenty of rocks and crap on the roads in Houston...
