steve35svt Hi SVT Robzor. I like the look of the 6 spoke wheels I bought last summer better than the original 5's. H stock would get me away from a certain cream colored Mini for sure!

ES: Miata 1.6, Miata 1.8 (94-97)
CS: Mazdaspeed Miata, Miata 1.8 (97+), MX5 including MSR

Any 94-97 that has the "R" sport package, which included the Torson as I recall, is quite legal for ES

How often is it that a model is split into different classes based on what motor the trim has?

WeeAsp Historically, HS was referred to as "Automotive's Unwanted" here in the DC region.

Part of the problem is one that we all gripe about. A lack of low end power. The Coopers and Celica GT's have that in spades.

Are they better than an SVT? Dunno, but they seem to be the more popular and more competitive.

Is an SVT no better than a real focus? No, its better, but at the same time, most people don't have the level of understanding that we do about the little cars.

I'm sure part of it is that the focus was offered with a 2.3

Blurvfocus Well, anyway, I don't think it's a good idea. I'll bet you that somewhere at the bottom of this heap is somebody with an SVT who isn't winning as much as he'd like to and rather than work on his skills, wants to just face easier competition.

Are they saying that the SVT is no better than the focus?

Yep.

While I can't speak to the Cooper, I can tell you about the Camaro.

In 96-97, Chevrolet released the 1LE package Camaro. 3:73 rear, Adjustable Koni Shocks (FROM THE FACTORY) pan-hard set up and heftier front suspension.

SCCA classed it in F Stock.

For me, driving a conventional Firebird, there was no competition.

That aspect of the rules...SUCKS.

Looking at my raw times, the SVT in my club would have been perhaps too strong, but we don't have much serious HS competition.

WeeAsp Even in GS, the car is competitive.

Granted the Cooper S is better balanced (which is why they are the national champion), but depending on the course, it is a give or take with the SVT. We give them a run for their money on the DOT race tires.

I AX using the Hoosier A6 and I run a 225/40ZR17 and they fit with no issue. I've also run the Toyo with 235/35ZR17 on the stock wheels with no issue.
