I just installed a new deck for better bluetooth support, so I thought I'd upload a pic of the finished harness. This is using the Metra wiring harness including the third connector for subwoofer and steering wheel controls connections. I am also using the Metra ASWC-1 for steering wheel controls.
Note that this is for a Pioneer deck. Your wiring for the ASWC-1 may be different (it was for my prior Kenwood Deck). Follow their directions to program the ASWC-1 (basically just hold the reset button for two seconds while everything is powered and connected and wait for the LED to stop flashing)
Aside from hooking the finished harness up, make sure you ground the exposed stranded wire jacket around the wire pair corresponding to the subwoofer RCA connection. I ended up doing this after the fact, so I just wrapped a wire around the antenna connector.
Also, for me, the third (subwoofer/steering wheel controls) connector was a bit loose, so I wrapped the connector so the two halves are held tight against each other. I used a velcro strap.
On a side note Bluetooth HFP 1.6 is well worth the upgrade! Voice to text works much better now and call quality is much better.

|777-300ER||I know this is a bump from hell, but I have some new info. Crutchfield offers a Metra harness that comes with the 3rd plug. You can find it HERE Metra 70-1777 Receiver Wiring Harness Connect a new car stereo in select 2002-04 Ford Focus vehicles at Crutchfield.com|

I have a 02 svt and the column control has me confused... from what I have read....
white/black - grey/black = RCA sub input
white/red = remote turn on from radio
are these the only 3 wires needed to use the sub with a aftermarket head unit?
or do I need to hook the brown/yellow up to power also? to power the sub or does the sub already get power from the harness elsewhere?
Thanks the column control just thrown in the mix on the first page confuses me.

I have a Kenwood KDC-BT958HD put in. I just wired up the speakers and the sub last night. But I still have to steering control to do. The Third Ford harness still has a green/white, TWO yellow/browns, and a white/black wires left on it which go to the steering control I think. I have a wire on my Kenwood harness that is for the steering wheel control I just need to know what wires go to it and if there needs to be a power wire sent to the steering control and if that should be from the battery or the ignition. Thank You.

Wired My Stock Sub w/New Kenwood HU!
I just got my SVTF 4 months ago and was getting around to doing this. I finally did it today and it works great! Only thing is that I cut the wrong white/black wire and was getting a humming sound when connecting the sub. When I realized my mistake and used the right white/black wire, all was good. I mounted a Kenwood KDC-BT755HD HU if anyone would like to know. Thanks for the write up!

|PlaneCarBoat||Okay so the wiring looks fairly simple. The only question I have is where do I plug the RCA cable into on my head unit? Here is my HU.|

|kevinw1797||I got it. It was my head unit. I had another Kenwood and it is fine. Works great.|
