|BlueFocusSVT04||I got the bar on. I had to jack up and let down the car in several locations, flex the bar, and tap it into place with a rubber mallet. All I can say is it's on. I don't think it was worth the pain. I replaced the lower CFM engine mount in around 30 minutes. The bar took around 1hr and half. I love the lower mount! The car seems much better. Screw the strut bar though, I guess it's just supposed to look good. Thanks for the help. Brandon|

|BlueFocusSVT04||I got the strut bar on. It took some work though. I don't think that it is worth it. The lower CFM engine mount took me less time than the bar. That just sucks. I really like what the lower mount did for my car though.|

|FocusStrider||yeah you can try that.. while your at it, put the bar and see if there is a thing that is "blocking" the bar from getting it to fit, if there is, move that thing away a little bit.|

|BlueFocusSVT04||Thanks Strider. It has clearance just no way to line up the bolt holes on one side. Some people on here suggested jacking up the car. I think I will try that. Laters|

|norcalsvt||when i got mine it didn't fit either all i did was jack the car up right in front of one of the rear tires on the pinch weld and it slid right on, try that.|

Do bore it out a little. It is not supposed to fit extremely tight. Jack the car up by the subframe to release all pressure from the suspension. Now the suspension is at is totally relaxed position. Put the bar on one side and lay it on the other side which does not fit. Take a pencil and scribe the bolts outline onto the back of the bars plate and bore it out to that line.
The bar, when installed correctly should slide very easily over the bolts. Forcing it on could even mess with the suspension of the car. This is exactly the reason why most really nice bars found on other cars come with two plates that mount directly to the struts and an adjustable bar in the middle so you can get it to sit very nicely. You want the bar to fit very nicely with the suspension in its "neutral" position.
And since the source of the bar fitting poorly is the holes being too far apart to be accepted by the bolts boring them out to where they fit perfectly over the bolts will have NO ill effects whatsoever. (i hope you get my meaning. the best i know how to describe it)
Edit: And the best way to bore it out is with a rat tail file. A little slow but much more exact at boring out to your line on that one side of the hole than drilling.

I installed mine just fine without lifting the car up........
I noticed an improvement in quickness of steering response.
