Silver02ZTS Has anyone ever tried to put a later model ATX shift lever on a Mk I ATX shifter? I think this would be an improvement over the tall OE shift lever and it would keep the overdrive button on the shifter. I'm tempted to grab one from LKQ on eBay and see if it can be done.

Jacket and Johnjy So there's no more gear indicator on the side to know exactly what gear youre in right? Has this been a problem and will it pass a state inspection this way? Thanks in advance.

I forgot where I bought it. It's aluminum secured with set screws. I remember I had to trim the hard plastic under the old one to get it to fit right.

TerryB Here's my OD switch.

I'm using the black knob. Probably around $90.00

TerryB Link not working. It's up to yo if you want to use the OD. I do use mine occasionally. I relocated my OD button to the center console. You'll need a momentary switch for that. Any parts store has them. I use a Momo auto shift knob with the shift button. It wasn't cheap though.
Here is the link. I've used that type on my daughters Honda Accord. You push the whole ball down. I guess it'll work on a Focus. You'll just have to adjust the length of the shaft underneath. I had to do that with my Momo too.

Focus boy 64 Do I even need the overdrive button or can I just tuck it in there? And how do I disable the shift lock? From my understanding this on is a push down ball style

TerryB The first post shows you the automatic shift knob held on with a set screw. You can do a ball type knob, but you'll have to disable the shiftlock on an automatic.

Focus boy 64 Is the gear shifter threaded? I found a ball shaped knob that sick speed offers with an adaptor
