Airbag question

If I unplug the radio will the airbags go off? I know on some Fords it does that and I dont want a big bill to have them fixed?

kris4christ2 i just popped the bezel off with a flathead didn't make any scratches..

but what i'd like to know is how far can i pull those wires to move the cover outta the way?? should i have the car (off) in D with the emergency brake on so the "shifter" is outta the way? is it ok to unplug the battery with it like that? when parking brake is not in P my key wont come out and the brake pedal locks; is it ok still to unplug battery?

Looking at the head unit in my car there are no slots for those "U" shaped tools that i needed for my 99 Cougar (and presumably most other Fords). All i see is a small 3/4" slot on the upper right side of the unit.
Correct...all you will need is either a 7mm nut driver or a 7mm socket and at least a 3" extension.

NightCrawlerZX3 It was your write up on FJ that helped me out. I think the pictures there are not working anymore but you did a great job and totally helped a novice out. I applaud you.
