Another good argument for the svtf vs. other foci is all the creature comforts that come with the car. Not just the performance.
The interior is much nicer than the others...period. The heated seats rule, the engine block heater (in the winter package) comes in handy in cold regions, the side view mirrors defrost, the power adjustable seat height on the drivers seat is nice, the body panels are done nicely....not to mention owning a car of limited numbers.
I know a few people who had SVTC's and stock for stock, they go about equal in a straight line...not sure about twisties, but my money is on the focus, lol.

|macdiesel||I test drove a green svtc a few years before I picked up my svtf. I love the way the svtc looks, still see them around and still admire them. I was dissapointed in the interior though. Some stuff felt cheap like reverse lock-out and the over head lighting buttons, if I recall correctly. Drove well, or as well as one can drive with a salesperson in the car. Main reason I looked at it was because it 4door. All around the svtf is better, interior, exterior, aftermarket etc... Like others have said 2004 svtf w/ euro package and low miles would be a nice pick up.|

|turbovation||You will not be disappointed going from an SVTC to an SVTF at all unless it's beat to hell and back. Also, I thought the top speed on the SVTF was (hypothetically) over 160 MPH...|

I've drive both the SVT focus and SVT contour. I've owned the normal (mtx) versions of both cars (99 contour se sport with the v6, 02 focus zx3, 07 focus zx3). I can say that the svt focus is going to be the closest performance wise to the SVT contour. That said, jumping from a Contour to a Focus really only makes sense if you want aftermarket parts or the versatility of a hatchback. For me, it was the versatility of a hatchback that led to me trading my 99 contour se sport in for my first focus.
Aftermarket goodies are easier to come by for any version of the focus than for the Contour. It's a tough call - the Contour and Focus are both great cars. Though, I have to say that I miss the v6 and five speed in the Contour.

|EggYolkBill||Guys, I'm not arguing that one is better than the other at this point. I'm only trying to be the devil's advocate so this guy can get enough info to make the best decision for him. If it were me, I'd probably get an SVTF but I would also consider a 2.3 because I know they can be built pretty strongly. I also prefer to build my own vehicle so I might opt for a ZX3 if it were me. I'm just trying to bring all options to the table for him.|
