I must agree with you on that Focaltech. the LS1 creates a lot of top end, but takes forever to get there. By the time it gets there an 03 cobra would be long gone. My dad has got an 03 Cobra, quite modded now lol. I got a video of him runnin' 10.66 at 135.5 mph in a 1/4 mile, NO NITROUS.

The other day at the drag strip this LS1 Camaro was runnin 11.30s all day and decided to use his 150 shot of Nitrous when my dad pulled up next to him on the line. It was a very close race. He pulled my dad out the hole by a lil bit, cuz of the NOS, but my dad started to catch up to him and b4 they hit the trap...the cobra's nose was dead even with the camaro's door. The Camaro beat my dad by 2 tenths of a second. 10.55 versus 10.75. But my dad's mph was faster than the camaro's, meaning...he passed him right after the trap

But anyway, stock versus stock...the cobra's got it.

xls1owner hello everyone, new here.
anyway, my 98 TA only had longtubes, gears, lid, and hypertech and pulled a 13.1 @108mph oh, and that was on bald street tires wich busted on the way home from the strip. And it was an auto, Manuals can do 12.7 with minor bolt ons. so with any cam or heads a STOCK 03 cobra would go down and that is a fact!

S2 Wow I would love to see that race in person.... could be anyone's race for sure....

Osiris Given the LS1's compression ratio boost is a bad idea without going into the motor. My money's on the Cobra, but don't discount what an LS1 is capable of. That's one jewel of a motor.

ZETEC3 Huh...for some reason I was thinking that the SS came with 380 horses stock my bad.

focaltech I would like to know the times on that camaro?

I have seen a ton of camaros race cobras on the track and off, they just aren't that impressive.

A mustang cobra does not have near has much top end as an ls1, the mustang is more a low end car unless you do the right mods.
An SS with those kind of mods should have beat the cobra, now if you would of lost then that would be something worth mentioning.

Wrong, I have seen a vid of a cobra with bolt ons beat a 500 hp lingenfelter camaro ss.

The cobra has a lot of benefits for that $10 g's, like a completely internally built engine.

Btw where are you seeing Brand new LS1 anything for $ 10g less than a cobra? If you mean used, you cannot compare.

The only LS powered car is the GTO which is in the same price range.
