StephenElsbree1986 well, my car without me weighs 2665, that with the Audiophili and Winter package with tools, list of mods and jack/spare. Maybe the Lunchbox delete and HFC cut alot more weight then one would think? I notice with me driving 180ish and my gf in the passanger seat there isn't that much of a diffrence 120ish she is or with my friend that probably weighs in at 150, but once my friend that is 260 is sitting in the passanger seat I feel like I'm driving a Civic.... I lose alot of power atleast that what my butt dyno says

MattyM3CSL quick update on the track car weight reduction

Last weighed the car at 2454 with around 5 gal of gas.

Items removed since then

Sunroof = 20lbs (Est.)
Rear Crash Bar = 16lbs
Misc Stuff behind Dash = 10lbs
Glove Box = 2lbs
Mics Wiring, Shift Weight, Air Box Bracket and Micro Filter Housing/Parts = 5lbs (Est.)

Total = 53lbs+/-

Should be real close to 2400lbs with the same amount of fuel. Still have a few more things on the list...I'd love to see 2400lbs with a full tank.

akight Nice to see this thread raised from the dead

Got a chance to weigh my 07 ZX4SES on a Pilot Truck scale on Monday. Without me in it, and between 1/4 & 1/2 a tank of gas, she weighed in at 2500lbs even.

Items removed include:

Bare trunk, completely stripped except wires
No back seat or seat belts/seat belt brackets
No carpet
No center console
No lower dash panel over drivers side fuse box
No brake pedal boot
Cold air intake - Removed complete stock intake system
Windshield washer fluid system delete
Removed hood support
Removed front grill
Removed fog lights
Home-made shorty antenna
Aftermarket steering wheel
Removed all but one wheel-well liner
Somewhat lighter? Coil-over suspension

When I weighed in on Monday my weight reduction at that time did not include the center console/armrest/carpet delete... so technically (but not officially), I should be in the 24xx range now

Like you MattyM3CSL, my next goal is to hit the 23xx range

Almost forgot to mention, I just got the parts in to do an a/c delete. This includes an 05 non-a/c pulley and the specified serpentine belt...still debating whether or not to do it. Although, I've heard it can shed around another 50lbs from our cars.

MattyM3CSL Bringing back an oldie…

I got a chance to corner balance my blue SVT track car the other night. Car was 2454lbs without me and 2641lbs with me in it. I had between ¼ and a ½ tank of gas. I estimate I still have at least 50 more pounds that can come out of the car. Next goal 23xx lbs....

Bwinkelsas I went to the drag strip the other night and ended up putting my NON SVT on the scale but thought id join in on the thread beacuse its all about weight. my 07 zx3 weighted in at 2360 without me. i have only the driver seat and door panels, dash. everything else behind me is gone, i have yet to cut anything off. if this thread stays alive again for a bit lol, it may help to get motivated to take more out.

Do you remember what the roll bar weighed in at? That’s on my list of stuff to get too...haha

Give me a call if you need help turning wrenches! That track car is bad ass

I was asking if there's anyone out there that's less than that (what I'm currently at), because I wanted to see what else they did to theirs, so I could do to mine.

Had my car on my buddy's lift a couple weeks ago, and he was able to very easily scrape off some of the sound deadening underneath the car. At this point, I could care less about the noise, since I already removed my radio and stuff, so I'm thinking I might go to town underneath the car as well. Every little bit adds up. I think getting it into the 2,400's without the driver and about 1/2 tank of gas would be SICK considering I should be built/boosted by early summer

and yea, I think our plans are pretty similar. Can't wait to see what this season has in store for us!
haha I realized that was your weight after I posted. That’s getting pretty light! And I agree every little bit helps. Some of my friends and bride think im nuts. I started scraping off the tar sound deadening inside the car also. It’s a pita. I watched a youtube vid of guys using dry ice to remove the tar stuff….looked pretty cool.

2400’s would be awesome…plus if your adding boost, its going to fly! Did your car come with a sunroof? That’s the best place to remove some weight. the the highest point of the car. thats on my list....
