Maybe.... I just found out that VHT has flaming red header paint! And besides Im secure in my masculinity! I can handle wearing a little pink.
The "other" comment made was why no red and green! So I could be festive!! LOL

Well my valve cover is red, and my soon to be added Saleen sway bar is red, Im also adding red over blackish SVT door panels. I just ordered a red gates timing belt. I have red bushing kits and will be adding more RED!!!! LOL
I love red and wanted my header to stand out! So I'm painting more stuff red as I go and more parts I add will be red.

I should have whetted my wrap, and I should have worn gloves and a long sleeve shirt!!
I also found out the hard way that I should have wrapped like the OP did so that I could do two short wraps and then the two full length wraps down to the collector.
I used 73 feet of the 75 feet of sickspeed wrap I ordered. I sealed it post wrap with VHT clear Flame Proof header wrap sealer.
This is what it looks like, I wont have other pictures until I get the car back together!!!
I didn't go all the way to the collector because my car is lowwwww! and that would have gotten scraped of at some point!

I bought a "pre" wrapped header a few years ago and I need to redo it, mainly down at the bottom.
So I guess the $25 stuff on eBay isn't going to last or work as well as the wrap I have now? And I'm thinking that new wrap on top of the old wrap would probably cause problems in the long run?
At least I have a reference to go off of with the wrap job I have now.

My experience with my SVT:
•cheap header wrap isn't worth ANYTHING. It deteriorates quickly and doesn't do much for heat at all!
•as mentioned by others, wear some gloves. Actually, Go further up your arms if you can. The fibers will get all over. You may think you got it all put with a few showers and some tape sessions, but then you get into bed that night and realize how horribly mistaken you were.
•wetting the wrap absolutely helps with installation.
•it will definitely smoke as the wrap dies itself out upon installation.
•I have not seen any issues with my header, but at the same time my wrap has vastly deteriorated in the ten months I have had it on. For the record it was cheap fiberglass and I did not seal it. It was originally black in color. Took three days to go totally white.
Final conclusion is that Header wrap can be analogous to sound deadener in the following way:
The cheap stuff is priced well but literally doesn't not do anything, whereas the expensive stuff works wonders, but even at that quality is still overpriced.

|kingbedhead||did this the other day its bout 11 foot per tube and the 6 food left to do down to the cat i soaked mine in water for bout 15 mins left car run for 5 mins to let water steam out then sprayed the silver sealer smoked for bout 15 mins and even the next day to work.. i think this is a must do if ur heat sheid is rusty like mine was.. better head manigment also cus heat down by like 40 percent.. dont know the temps b4 and after tho wraped mine with bout half over last ring of each used EDI OR EID one of those good luck guys|
