apex214 Just a personal opinion:

You would be "ahead of him" if you ignore his boasting and general b.s.

What, exactly, do you have to prove to him or yourself?

Sorry but this "street racer", "grudge match", "d*ck waving" mentality is ridiculous.

You raced a Wrangler in a cow pasture? Seems like your Firebird would have been at a distinct disadvantage
That's the point.

I let my ego get in the way saying that I could beat him regardless of the circumstance.

So, when I agreed to race him on HIS terms, the playing field changed...

Don't know of many Firebird rally cars...

I would love to see this AutoX matchup. Not that our resident noob would throw up awesome times or anything, but it would still be like watching a Hippo trying to catch a rabbit...
Or the Queen Mary tossing grappling hooks out the window to make a corner.

The biggest thing to remember is that the foci weren't designed to be straight line cars.

The best way to REALLY and I mean REALLY shut him up would be to agree to the race, but insist that you set the time and place. Meet up with him early in the morning and have him follow you to a local AX meet. Tell him that you'll put $30 on the table that says you can beat him before you get there. That's his entry fee. Then, put 10 additional PSI in your tires and the living crap out of him.

Something similar happened to me when I was 17. I had a formula firebird and a co-worker at the shop I used to work at kept talking about how his stock Jeep Wrangler could out run me any day of the week. Of course, I told him he was full of it, but finally I agreed to a race - the whole, anytime, anyplace and I'll own you kind of discussion.

You can imagine the look on my face when we went about 10 miles out of town and we pulled up to a cow pasture....

gosh i hate bullys lol
I agree! First off, racing and ragging on a brand new car is a great way to wreck it. Let the car settle into itself, learn how to master it, maybe add some parts, then worry about racing and all that nonsense. I'd try and be content with the fact that even if this guy's car is a little faster, it's obviously hideous and a giant piece of shit.

I also agree with Carrera. Drag racing is for anyone. Challenge this guy to an autoX and watch him embarrass himself horribly. That fat GP will be all over the place, and he'll undoubtedly be all about his nitrous, so everytime he goes WOT he'll loose traction, plow over cones, make a mess... it will be hilarious!!

*edit* i see you're from Ohio. If you get this guy to an autoX that's not too far from Michigan, let me know and I might just come down to see the carnage! I think it would be wildly entertaining. Lol
