Getrag shifter tower assembly
I need the trans side shift linkage assembly that the shift cables attach. my square bushing was missing and now the linkage is shot. PLEASE HELP

|ShadowFocus603||Looking at the way its typed it does look like it could mean a solid dogbone but that's thicker than .5" so who knows. It could be that he is referring to the drivers side mount as it looks like one of those could be fabbed up in plate but not real sure how strong that would be.|

However, the busing im referring to is the larger white bushing in the counterweight itself, not the black slider.
I couldn't decide if he meant he made a shifter plate from 1/2" steel, a solid steel tranny mount (dogbone replacement), or did like you said and altered the shifter. I was really thinking he did a one up to the metal shifter plate bushing mod and just made a whole plate that the shifter mounts to in the center console

That link has the info on the small bushing. Call Steve at Tasca Ford for a replacement or make one yourself (9.1mm square with a 7mm hole) Steve sells them shipped for like 19 bucks. One of the members here makes them since Ford doesn't. The plate that's being referred to I'm guessing is an attempt to alter the throw of the shifter although raising the shifter after cutting will only help if you then lengthen the lower portion of the shifter accordingly. This is how short throw shifters work. If it were me I'd buy the adjustable short throw from CFM and call it a day.

I did this mod this past weekend and definitely like the change, but feel that I need at least some weight, just not the whole counterweight. Thus I will be playing the washer stacking game.
Also, my white bushing is destroyed... any ideas on replacement?
LASTLY, in reference to the above quote, what does he mean by 1/2" steel tranny mount? It sounds like a glorious idea but I have no cue what he is referring to, any ideas?

I would recommend doing the roll restrictor motor mount, you can get polyeurathane pushings to restrict your motor from rolling as much as it does with rubber bushings, I bought the whole thing but the very cheap method is to press in the bushings that will fit your factory dogbone.

|Jaketet||Just finished taking my counterweight off. It definitely changed the feel of shifting. There is now 2 distinct notches as you go from one gear to the next. It feels alot better, gates are easier to find and it's easier to tell when you actually get it into gear.|
