thehubster mine has been off for about a year now and it is doing great. i take it to the drag strip almost every week and drive it hard. it is a fun and tough car if you take care of it. this made it alot lighter for me and i like it. thanks to the one who first discovered this.

turboguy327 My counterweight was taken off by the PO when it had 8k miles on it. I now have 98k on my svt with not even a cable popping off. The weight is there to slow the shifting down because it takes some effort to swing the weight around when shifting. Its there because if ya shift quickly it wears the syncros out quickly. Ford doesnt want to do warrenty transmission work so they make things like the weight and the clutch pedal sensor. When you push the clutch in the PCM pulls timing to make less power wchich equals less load on drivetrain parts. Your car will be fine if you shift correctly and take care of it. your friends was saying stuff like that because he wants to seem smarter than you I am willing to bet.

opyaFSVT Same here had mine off for more then 20,000 km with a couple of track days, no complains, works great. I recommend this mod.

DirtyDeeds I've had mine off for over 40,000 miles that included Chicago rush hour traffic and a few track days. No problems here.
