Goat Roper Drop those launch RPM and feather that clutch, you will get there

svtfocus_john i am really having a hard time finding the best rpm to launch at with this car. I guess i will just practice. I guess i will go back to the track and do a few runs with spray and a few with not. I really want to hit 14's before i start spraying at the track. I know the car is capable the only part that is week is the driver. If a keep 2.6 60ft then i wont be seeing anything better but if i can get a 2.2 than hello 14's. Anyways i wil post my times the next time i go.

netdrgoon Goatroper I aspire to your times....I'll be getting closer when it cools'll take a little more than what I have to run a 14.6 NA I think.

Goat Roper Trap speed is the ugly sister of E/T anyway, you don't win for having the best speed.

You 60' lines up with whatever was lined up next to me and you can see what they ended up with.

Make sure those tires are around 20-22lbs of pressure.

the reason why my trap speed was so low cause i lowered the tire pressure a lot. Usually i trap around 94. Next time i go i am just going to keep the normal pressure because i can launch really good on the street. I think my svt is a little strong straight from the factory.

Spec3VR6 skeptical? just have know how to drive the thing. I hit 15.2 back to back to back at the strip with just a CAI, tune and pulleys. My 60 fts werent great at all, but the car was consistent and my trap speeds were high which is a good sign...usually 92 or 93 mph. It just takes alot of seat time with this car to get a feel for

did u say that you had a 2.5..60 ft? Damn..... and you still hit a 15.1?...yea, your car is good for 14's easy, just learn how to launch it a little better. youre definitely making good power. What was your trap speed? Got a slip you can post up?

Rev to around 3500, slip the clutch, mash the gas and your golden, shift at redline every time..and ride out 3rd gear at the end of the 1/4 mile, itll keep your trap speed up.

people substantially underestimate the SVT's capabilities...sure the gearing isnt suited for much other then road course..but that just means you have to learn how to make it versatile. people that are saying all this negative stuff usually are the ones who have never ran their car or know how to properly drive it.

Goat Roper Yeah, it is within reason

mas73 I beleive him just with a intake , udp and a sts i ran a 15.2. Granted it was 40 degrees when I ran it!

goinloco1 15.1 i'm just a tad sceptical without a timeslip and with the limited mods you have. been dyno'd and if so what were your numbers?

Goat Roper You might get those 60's down a notch but unless you get a stiff tail wind you will never see 14.7 in your current config
