focus_06_gfx I lived in australia for 2 years and drove a falcon ST ute. They are amazing cars, and due to high oil prices would now fit our market, the same way they have fit the australian market for so long. Also the falcon is a big car as for bigger then the 500 i don't know about that i wouldn't think so but i never saw them side by side (obviously). I don't know how far away this is from happening, because there would definatly be crash test results that would force some upgrades in the bumber design, in australia their regulations are much different and not as strict as our in canada. However if i could relive my days in OZ by driving a falcon ute again....where do i sign?

igor ^^^That is the general assumption - however Ford is not going to bring the current versions over - they will simply bring over the new platform and build US destined cars off of that platform..

In the meanwhile there is a rumor for is working on an adaptation of the D3 platform for RWD and RWD-based-AWD (dubber E3). The E3 platform should take over the RWD cars for now before the Aussie platofmr is ready (by the time Ausie platform is ready, D3 will be retiread anyways - EUCD type platform will take over the whole large sedan category.

Oppps why i put 5.7 i meant 5.4L, its the engine in the shelby gt-500, im guessin its the same from the Cobra R, just its supercharged and its probably got some major internal work as well. Oh and i think the fusion is pretty attention grabbing, doesnt look like any other car out there....the falcon kinda looks like a few, not to mention the fusion/milan/zephyr are selling really well. Oh and havent you heard the new 3.5l V6 fords making, you know the one with the 265hp, that might make it into the fusion so it can compete with the v6's in the import cars in its class like the accord, camry etc.

That would be cool if they build that motor and use it wisely. Like put it into
the MK3 Focus when it is coming up to production. Almost sounds like the
3.5L V6 that Nissan is using? forsan Ford + Nissan.

dubalicious I love Falcons!
But I want the XR6 Turbo model rather than the V-8.

pertuan The Falcon is about the size of a Holden Commodore which is the 4 door version of the Pontiac GTO (Holden Monaro) you guys had over there. We call it a large size family sedan here. Not sure what that means over there but basically, 3 average size adults can fit in the back comfortably.

Ford needs to do something to get the falcon over here in the states. Replace the
lack luster Fusion with the Falcon. IMO. Yeah I know the fusion is a new model.
But it is not an attention grabber and has no real power from a v6, just
the same old Duratec that was in the Taurus/Sable. The Falcon on the other
hand had me back in the day when I was always watching the Aussie V8
Supercar races on Speed channel.

Why does Ford Aussie get the US Cobra R motor (5.4L 32 valve) and all the newer
04+ F150s barely get an extra valve on the same motor (5.4L 24 valve)

lmao, that's one of the craziest things i've ever heard...that's the only thing that ford could do to truly screw the mustang. the mustang is exactly that...it's one of those names, it's a legacy, so it'd take somethin big to really screw it up...and if by "will start at 30k" you mean the base model at 30k, that'll never happen. they may be dumb, but not THAT dumb...it'd put the car in a completely different category.

If the challenger comes out and the camaro, i think ford is going to boost the horsepower substantially, after all the camaro has a ls2 in it and the challenger is going to have the 425hp 6.1l Hemi, that 300hp 4.6 just wont do....NA 5.7L in the mustang anyone.
