firebirdude Keys out of the ignition and press twice. It should only auto-unlock once.

You can also vary the test up and try a few times. With the driver's window open, close all the doors and lock it. Then wait and try. If at any time using any method, if the locks fail to unlock when you press the switch, the GEM has gone to sleep and you'll need to do the tech doc.

Cameron.osullivan If the drivers door is open and I press the lock button it unlocks it's self to prevent locking the key inside the car

Do this test:
1. With the driver’s window rolled down, close all the vehicle doors except the driver’s door.
2. With the driver’s door open, lock the door by pressing the driver’s door lock switch.
3. Close the driver’s door.
4. After 3 minutes, reach in through the driver’s window and press the unlock switch in the door. If the doors fail to
unlock you must do Directed tech doc 1093 to wake up the GEM module with your lock and unlock wires.

All the wires you need are in the driver's kick. Bottom bundle of wires. Lock is black/red. Unlock is black/yellow. Unlock detect is black/green. Be aware if you've got a factory alarm, you'll need to use the FAD wire from your Hawk system too. Black/white in the same location, though it's double pulse(-).

Of course, these are for the Focus here in the states. Donno how they are across the pond.

No offense, but if you need a how to, it's way over your head. I know this post is old, but hopefully you just took it to a professional.

Which wires are you trying to wire up? Lock and unlock? On the 04.... I think they're just in the driver's kick panel harness. Do you have the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) just above the passenger kick panel? They should be available there too.
Which system are you putting in and what bypass module are you using?

Cameron.osullivan This is the same as my central locking control module if it helps. Thanks in advance
