|RonMaiden||I don't put the miles on my car like many people do as I just hope mine holds up to time as I plan on milking this car as long as I can. I only average about 8000 miles a year so it'll take me til 2024 before I hit 100k.|

I agree... However, wouldn't you agree we continue to see influences from our European neighbors? I think the revised 2011 and up focus is a prime example. The recently announced RS also comes to mind.
My main point, without highjack a thread, is why can't folk enjoy a nice domestic? How come there are so many snobs that want to imbibe in an import... LOL

2012 Focus 145,000 miles
Daily driver bought in December 2012... I put roughly 1000 miles + a week on it and now have over 145,000. No problems except for tires and front pad replacement... I keep the oil changed and did the DST tranny recall before I lost out on the 100K mile warranty cut off. I felt like
This year I felt like I needed to do something so I replaced the serpentine belt and spark plugs at 130K. Neither one looked bad. the plugs were a real surprise and looked look more like plugs of yesteryear with 30K on them. Plug gap was .006 over factory specs... I know hard to believe, but I checked the gap out of curiosity.
When will Americans wake up and understand vehicles are globally manufactured today! It drives me nuts to see consumer reports BS bias and the continued brainwashing from the media that American auto manufacturers build a sub-par product!
Last I looked Ford once owned Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover... I wonder if any technology was gleaned from these acquisitions...
