Browningguy I'm going to try for the 14th meet, no promises until I make sure I'm not travelling though.

Blue5ive Looks good man. You gonna make to the September meet?

New suspension

Well the SVT suspension worked really well for a dual use car, but was still a little too soft for autocrossing. I went ahead today and switched out the suspension for the Ford Racing Spec Focus road racing springs and Koni STR.T shocks front and rear. I've only driven it about 20 miles so far but feels pretty good.

The downside to this setup is now I can't get enough camber on the front just using the camber plates so will have to change that setup again. I was looking for -2 degrees minimum and the most we could get was -1.3 before the caster went crazy. I also went with more camber in the rear than I was using previously, -2 instead of -1, I'm looking for a little more grip in the rear without ruining the turn is it had.

As you can see these springs lower the car a good inch lower than the SVT set up, and surprisingly the ride isn't bad at all.

Blue5ive Yay another Houston guy.

You just missed a group install/hangout meet we had on the 13th.

Car is coming along nicely. Like the wheels. My 17"x7.5" wheels are a little over 3 pounds lighter as well. Definitely makes a difference.

Browningguy Thanks, I am going to look at the rear disk conversion but will probably drive it this way for the rest of the year. I am considering the SSBC conversion or just doing a SVT conversion.

As for the exhaust see 14.10 D and 14.10 E in the 2013 rule book:

Quote:
14.10 D This allowance does not permit relocation of the catalytic converter.
Quote:
14.10 E Catalytic converters: Any catalytic converters are allowed, but must attach within 6 of the original unit.
So perhaps you could use a SVT header and cat since it was a similar US model, but just to be safe I went with the shorty and the cat in the same location.

I'm old and slow anyway so a couple of horsepower either way won't make much difference.

bringler26 Interesting my interpretation and through discussions with those how had experience the SVT header and cat were an except-able upgrade for ST because it was a factory part on another model.

ViperThreat I like the wheels.

I think you would be suited with dropping it even more, even the stock SVT suspension looks too high to me.

Also, have you considered upgrading to the SVT brakes?

katiekay Those wheels look good!

Car is coming along nicely.

Browningguy Decided on tires and wheels and ordered these today along with a set of BFG G-force Sport COMP 2's in 205/50-16. Tirerack had a closeout price on the Kazera KZ-P and they only weigh 16.5 pounds each, so almost 3 pounds of unsprung weight off each corner.
