sailor In the US the '05 was a handy step between the early & later cars for a knuckle.

Fits the early struts, but uses the larger later brakes (plus SVT) & larger ball joint stud.

No change on the tie rod end stud size.

Magus2727 if you go with the 05 hub you have other things to worry about (different size of shock absorber comes to mind).

Good luck. there are a lot of how to's on the forums for various parts. and just beware of the inner tie rod is a PITA to replace.

photn02 Thanks yeah ill have a look, i remember having a conversation with Felix about 05 only hubs and the larger ball joint required.

Magus2727 nope don't need to change the hub. will fit SVT brakes. That is what I have done. have 2005+ tie rod components with SVT front brakes.

do some searching on it. the steering rack was the same rack from 00 to 2011 i think and the knuckles were the same over the same year. but the tie rod hardware changed from in 2005 to some beefer stuff.

photn02 doesnt that mean i need to change my knuckle/hub as well?

if i go an 05 i should be able to install SVT calipers shouldnt i?

Magus2727 if your replacing the tie rods and tie rod ends you can "upgrade" to the 2005 it requires getting the inner tie rod end also but the 2005+ have a larger OD and larger joint to make it "stronger".

replace with MOOG parts if able. life time warranty.

photn02 its a 2002 Zetec model, so probably equivalent to your ZX3 i think.

Magus2727 you will likely still use the end links, just not the mount bushings.

you can replace the tie rod ends, what year is your car?

photn02 Yeah i got the factory Tie rod ends,

i was just wondering as if im replacing the bushes should you replace the tie rod end at the same time as you will have the front LCA off the car.

I thought there where 3 parts on the rear?

Yes i have an EIBACH sway bar front and rear so i wont use those parts,
