1turbofocus I would do a compression test , IACV wouldnt cause this , mass air could

See if you can find a local FF member that has a xcal2 or 3 and send me a datalog and lets see whats happening

The code you set could be a
bad o2 sensor
bad o2 fuse
bad wiring to the o2 from fuse
Vac leak on the engine

I would find the problem then fix it , see if you can barrow a xcal2 - 3

Generally, idling and shaking is the result of a misfire, but it would likely throw a code for it. If it's shaking hard while accelerating that could be a Throttle position sensor.
The entire engine is sharing while at idle and driving

The PCV is located just below the header/head and to the right side , between the header and block right about where the trans bolts to the block

Only code I'm getting is p0420. I replaced the o2 sensor, spark plugs, my dad removed the cat. Still the engine is shaking hard. I was thinking its either the idle control valve or mass air flow sensor

cylenotkyle My dad thinks it may be the PCV Valve. Does anyone know where that is located on a zetec? or the Air Idle control valve. I read that these are common problems and a lot cheaper than replacing the Catalytic converter. photos or a video would be nice.

amc49 Like others say, get other opinions from other mechanics. Lean over their shoulder while they do the scanning or get it down at Autozone for free. Then you have the codes yourself and can cut out the middleman even worse.

Knowledge is power and money, baby............

cyfocus01 Have you joined your regional forum? There ought to be a member in your region that can help you turn some wrenches.
Agreed you are getting taken to the cleaners with those estimates. I know biggest dealer here charges $125/hr. That's ridiculous to me. But some things HAVE to be done at the dealer.
