2k4ranger well,I don't know much about focuses that's why I paid that much, I assumed the low mileage meant good car and I was unaware that the spi engine dropped valves, that's why I'm asking for help.My ranger is awesome, and I love it and ford does a wonderful job on them, I'm not quite sure why they were cancelled. And no I blame the dealership here in town, but it's not like you can return a used car.I just need it fixed, my wifes an on call nurse, and she needs a car.So she my truck right now because I can't risk the focus braking down on the side of the road again.I'm more amused that a dealership would even sell this to me.

don627 Wow 7k for a 10yr old Focus. Will you buy a Zetec '03 for 10k I have one? Sorry for the flippant remark but, I bothers me when someone buys a 10year old car without checking it out first and then when it goes wrong they say well Ford can't make good cars. Many people on here have Focus's older than my '03 that are still going strong. If you want help we can help but, try not to offend people by making general statements about the cars we all love (it's why we are on this site remember)!

2k4ranger Yes well that shame falls upon me, I just wanted it fixed so my wife could get towork, after lookign at it some more, if you park it and push down on the conors, no noise. But when it throw in drive or reverse than hit the brake whamoo, it's there. So wheel bearing or something with the drum.Of course You can't take it off the usual way, and I can't reach those four bolts in the back.Anyone know what this might be.It made brake sounds before but they weren't bad,now though after the aligned the back it's differently there.Maybe they were hitting it with hammers when they were aligning it?

Wow, sorry to hear that. I know you should of done this or that. See what those guys will do for you, at $7000. they should do something. As you know come here, next time before you buy. You should of jumped on a zetec or d-tech powered foci.

anarchy0392 7K for SPI a good Zetec goes for 4K an SVT goes for 5K. You should complain an have the other person pay for repairs that's insane for a car that's gonna blow its engine at 120 to 150k miles.

anarchy0392 Okay well first ford just like most car makers make good or great cars there is always a bad egg like the SPI focus. Now the main problem is that you bought it from someone who didn't take very good care of it. The reason your wheels could be doing that is the breaks might be rubbing unevenly, the bearing is bad, or the drum might have something in it broken.
