Red01Focus I had 18's on my car, et45 with 215/40/18 with the svt suspension. even though its a mild drop it looks better and handles nicer

felixthecat I'd lower it, before 18''s.

While I agree with you that 17" wheels are probably ideal for overall drivability, I can't help but disagree with you here. 18's definitely work on a mk1ócase in point:

Do you have any pictures of your '01 on here?

zx5fanatic The reason I was considering 18s is because I've always been a fan of larger rims on a car and I prefer the lack of sidewall, but I really like my 16s that I currently have and couldn't imagine swapping them out for only 1 more inch with 17s. My plan was to make my current wheels for winter and 18s for summer, but I have sort of decided against that for now. I think I'm gonna stick to my 16s for now.

I like 17" for looks. and the sidewalls would cushion just a bit more. thirdly the tires are significantly cheaper. fourthly, 17 wheels would be lighter.

YellowJellyBean et35-et40. I suggest lowering your car at least a little bit first, because having more fender gap than sidewall is going to look silly.

Thinking About Getting 18s

I'm thinking about getting some 18" Enkei wheels for my zx5. I don't have any of the detailed specs like width or offset yet for the set that I would be purchasing (going to be calling about them later today). I was wondering if anyone had trouble with 18" wheels in the past? I'm not sure what size tires they currently have on them (I'm assuming 215/35/18, but like I said I'll find that out in a bit). I have stock suspension. I know that I should look for no wider than 7.5" width, but what would be the best offset for a zx5?

I've read through the general wheel/tire size thread on here, but wanted some opinions.
