was that the ram air piece from the ford racing kit or just that little $4 cover you can buy for it?

I know Steeda makes a ram air too but it's like $130 bucks. way to much for a piece of plasitic.

Ecomatt I removed the standard snorkel and fitted the intake from the ST to help smooth out the airflow.

No not really. i thought about it briefly but I remeber dyn085 saying it killed his gas mileage on his daily comute so i decided against it. I would like to fashion some kind of ram air to go where the snorkel used to be. something similar to the fordracing ST intake but but cheaper.

I did the same thing and experienced the same results... snorkel delete only at first then added the AEM Dry Flow and that definitely is what helped... For those wondering which air filter to go with, I'm not sure the added cost ($60 vs. $40) and the added hassle of having to oil is worth the K&N over the Dry Flow... that's why K&N bought AEM, they realized that the dry filters were going to kill their oiled filter business! :)

Yes, and with path of least resistance, you would be sucking in inconsistently hot air from under the hood instead of cool air from the front. The Newmission mod thread is long but we should figure out if people have successfully done one with a hose that fits the stock air box hole without drilling out the air box at all.

Good to know. I think the only reason I'd ever remove the resonator would be to do the Newmission mod. I think it may be worth the sacrifice of having increased noise.

removing the resonator on this engine (just leaving the hole open) then driving in the mountains -- the drone up long hills was brutal. i put it back in. YMMV.

I removed the snorkel awhile back, but I still had the stock (OEM) air-filter on. The only thing I noticed was a slight sound increase. I finally installed the AEM dry filter.
