It's pretty easy dude, you can't put the new ones on wrong because they have to go on like the oem ones. There's a notch they have to fit. Anyway, if you're not worried about the oem knobs, engage your parking break. Move your shifter into a position that isn't going to be in the way. Use vice grips, channel locks, whatever, I used a decent set of pliers. Pull straight back firmly and without twisting or you could do some damage. After the oem knobs are off pop on the new ones and bam you're done. Super easy.

frizz Got em. Installed them using the channel lock/towel method described here. Love them!

ChalupaJones Heck yeah they do. It was the first thing I did to my wife's new focus, and not because I wanted to either. She's not a fan of modding at all but knew how they looked in mine and wanted the same thing lol. This is probably the easiest mod anyone can make to their interior and significantly increase the aesthetics for less than $20 depending on where you buy it from.

Dorzok welp, got the climate control out and discovered that it's darn near impossible to get to the back side of the dials. don't want to risk busting the case so i put it all back together and decided i like the stock ones just fine.

ChalupaJones Granted. Just saying, I've done it twice and haven't had an issue.

i've read accounts here of ppl hearing a snapping sound while removing the originals and the new knobs feeling loose after install. i looked at the new knobs and there's a square whole on the flat side of the shaft. i'm assuming that receives a clip on the stalk and is what makes it difficult to remove and is breaking for some. ima investigate just for piece of mind.

and besides, who buys a new car and doesn't familiarize themselves by tearing it apart??

ChalupaJones That^^

My wife and I did em together on both of em.
