esmith2039 On my 02 stock cassette player would lose the display on occasion. If I remember right it shut off completely. Typically it was after hitting a bump. If your's has it the center preset buttons can be removed and what I did was carefully bend the pins out and cleaned the with rubbing alcohol. Also cleaned the pads on back of the preset buttons. Never had any issues after that.

Radio Turns off Intermittenly

In my 2001 Focus SE, stock radio and speakers, the radio and clock display will shut off from time to time, randomly. Is this likely a problem with the radio or something else? I don't see any problems with the fuses.

Also, I don't know if it's related, but the cigarette lighter doesn't work, and when listening to AM stations and pressing the brake pedal, there is a distortion in the sound.
