When you take it out it allows more air to flow to get the best w/ the tune. W/out a tune tho you want the insert in. I have an Airrade CAI on my Mustang and it has the same thing.

Get a steeda & you won't have any water issues. If you do you have more problems.

Now that I know the difference I decided I'd prefer a Sri over an Cai.
Are there any SRI's you would recommend for a 2009 Ford Focus SES?

Sri = short ram intake. Its short, like right off the TB boot. Sometimes heat soak is possible with this setup and the right temperature day.

Cai = cold air intake. Its filter or air inlet is down low or in fender where the cold air is. Risky because of the possibility of water being sucked in.

You should switch. My car eventually died from that ish.
No problems at all with the custom Sri, steedas just looks badass though, and probably performs a little better

brekkebooboo I Have the fswerks cai and I'm in Washington, no splashqaurd, and it rains a lot and have never had a problem. But was considering switching because my filter does get soaked
