Just finished replacing the pass side CV shaft on my 03 SVT and noticed the replacement was very different from the OEM shaft. The OEM was much thicker on the trans side. The shaft after the bearing was also thinner.
I looked at 2 parts stores and actually took the 1st one back to AutoZone, but it did appear to be pretty good quality.
The part I settled for appeard to be the same diameter as the AZ part, but $30 bucks more.
For the bearing I got the $65 Timken bearing/hub replacement that eases the install without having to remove the old races. Appears to work great so far.
Changing the pass side CV shaft and bearing was an amazing 7 bolts!!
The quiet ride is great!!

I have one of these AutoZone axles in my Svt now 7k and no issues I had to replace one of my empi axles after having too much fun at the track.

I found this one at autozone, seems to have the correct spline count for an SVT

|swansong||I bought my axles at stockwiseauto.com, manufacturer is GSP, part numbers NCV11153 and NCV11154. Paid 110ish shipped for both sides. As far as I can tell these are the same parts that Advance Auto sells, the part numbers are the same anyway. Stockwise seems to be a newer company very similar to Rockauto, had no issues with my order.|

|Magus2727||Likely the part store did not know you had an SVT. The SVT ones cost more and are harder to find. 60 is even cheap for a non SVT. I would say buy on rockauto.com however I don't think they "stock" the SVT ones.|

|MustangCRZY302||Yea I just stared hearing a roaring at Highway speeds, I'm pretty sure its the carrier bearing on the Pass side CV shaft. Is that alone just replaceable? Or does the whole shaft have to be changed? CFM wants $360 for the shaft.... local parts stores want $60.... little confused....|

|vroom4||Holy smokes I wonder if thats my problem. How did you eventually track it down? Mine also "rattles" in the cage every once in a while when I use the defrosters but I assumed the "clunking" noise was suspension.|
